About Me

Thats me!

That's me!

Freelance Italian/English translator

My name is Audra, and I have had a lifelong love affair with languages. I dabbled in studying medicine, but I’ve always been a word nerd and just never admitted it. However, I proudly wear that banner now! I soak up language like a sponge, and use my endless enthusiasm for ways of speaking to my advantage in my job. This translates to a carefully done, true-to-the-original finished document and keeps my clients very happy.

I have been translating Italian to English since 2006. I translate everything I can get my hands on, sometimes even just for fun: certificates, letters,  catalogues, web sites, marketing materials and academic writings for a wide range of clients, including publishers, businesses and individuals.  I specialize in Dual Citizenship documents (been there, done that!), food/drink and linguistics but I am well versed in many subjects and since I love to read, I have a keen literary eye.

Originally from New York City, I studied at Stony Brook University and as of 2009 I’m currently finishing my education in Italy where I live and work. I grew up speaking both English and Italian, and am grateful that my time here is allowing me to be fully immersed in such a beautiful language. I study lettere moderne with a specialization in translations. That means my studies cover a wide range of subjects- from linguistics to art, literature and philology. In addition to Italian, I also translate to and from Sicilian, a very poetic romance language related to Italian. I speak and read (but do not translate) Spanish and read French.

For a price quote, please send me the document you would like translated. I offer discounted prices for bulk projects or returning customers who don’t bite! When possible, I prefer to work directly with clients by email or Skype. As expected, I charge extra for urgency.

I accept payments through wire transfer to my U.S. account, bonifici bancari, and PayPal.

Thanks so much for taking the time out to read this. I wish you luck in all of your endeavors and look forward to working with you!
